Forest Park

One of the coolest things about Portland is the huge Forest Park located in the hill above downtown Portland. My wife and I decided to take a hike starting from the Lower MacLeay location and walked about an hour into the Forest Park. I definitely recommend going here and checking the nature side of Portland if you want to get away from the city.  The Forest Park is definitely one of my favorite places to go to in Portland.

Blues Festival

One of Portland's most exciting annual events is the Portland Blues Festival.  Every year, thousands of people gather in the open grass area or in their boats in the Waterfront area in downtown Portland.  You can hear the blues and jazz music fill the air when you walk in the city and you're automatically attracted to the event.  I came to the event after work and walked along the Hawthorne bridge from the east side of the river towards the Waterfront.  These were some of the interesting things I took pictures of as I walked on the bridge.

I thought food carts is the trend in Portland but I was wrong, now it's food boats.  This dude was selling weenies on the water, ice cream also.  I wonder if he could throw food up to me and I'll chuck some quarters to him.  Maybe I'll try next year.

This is one of the few times where many boats gather out in the Willamette River.

Ohhh, good dog.  Enjoying the music.

Pearl Ops July

Every time I find a bicycle, I always try to practice to see if I can find more interesting ways of taking pictures of it.  After a while it gets boring taking pictures of the whole bicycle over and over again.  So here it goes.

I love the natural layer of yellow stripes over the wood board.  Nice.

Some art in a dog park in the Pearl.

Empty field in the Pearl.

Enjoying the nice weather by riding.

I love how the new building construction is based off the old industrial warehouses in the Pearl.  I would love to move here someday.
